There is always a story behind a finished piece whether the output is understood or not at the time.
"The Fascinator" is about the celebration of women. When I pictured this I wanted to put an element of a show into the work. Horse racing inspired me with all the spectacle of women dressed up in their wears with either a hat or a fascinator that would team with their dress. It also symbolizes nightlife and the too many times I have probably celebrated catching up with friends being a night owl. My lady is styled with black mid length hair and an organic back and sleeve tattoo relating to urban skin wear I love to be a voyeur. The fascinator is a bold emerald green in colours peacock that is more alive than just a headdress. The city night skyline glimmers in the distance. Cities have a double side meaning from my perspective. To me they can be cold and isolating and at the same time bustling, energetic, always changing and always evolving. Living half of my life in the city and country I find by witnessing them both in action has been rewarding in building future ideas.
